About Marble
Natural metamorphic stone, mainly calcite.
An even sand-beige with soft clouding and small, paler flecks through the body. Little veining; the interest is in the quiet, mottled texture.
Silvia and Sunny Menia are natural marbles. Softer and more reactive than quartz, marble asks for gentle use and regular care. Marble is porous and reacts with acids. Wipe up wine, citrus, vinegar and cosmetics straight away, use coasters and trivets, and clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Seal regularly.
Strengths
- Natural metamorphic stone, mainly calcite.
- Natural stone varies in colour and marking from slab to slab, and may contain small holes, fissures and filled areas. That character is part of the material, not a fault.
Considerations
- Use trivets; heat and spills near a hob can dull the surface.
- An indoor stone; polished marble weathers outside.
- Plan joints and vein direction; support thin pieces.
Planning your project
Review confirmed specifications and uses, and what to ask us about.
Layout, joints and supports
Joints, supports, edge build-up and cut-outs depend on the agreed layout. Send a rough sketch. Final drawings, measurements, openings and material approval are needed before cutting.
What affects your quote?
Quantity and layout, selected specification, edges and cut-outs, fabrication, delivery and installation scope all affect the quotation.
What happens after you enquire?
The office reviews your request and confirms specification and scope before quoting. Final measurements, drawings and material approval precede cutting.
Samples and visits
A photograph introduces the look; a sample helps you judge colour and finish in your own light. A sample does not show the complete slab pattern. Contact us to confirm current arrangements before you travel.

Questions about Marble
How much does this material vary?
High. Choose the slab where you can.
How should I judge a sample?
A photograph introduces the look; a sample helps you judge colour and finish in your own light. A sample shows colour, finish and texture, but not the full pattern of a slab. For natural stone, discuss how the selected pieces and their vein direction will be reviewed before fabrication.
How do I care for the surface?
Marble is porous and reacts with acids. Wipe up wine, citrus, vinegar and cosmetics straight away, use coasters and trivets, and clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Seal regularly. Etching cannot be fully prevented; a honed finish shows it less than a polished one.
Can I use it outdoors?
An indoor stone; polished marble weathers outside.
How do I choose an edge?
An edge is the part of a top you touch most. The profile you can have depends on the material, the thickness and how the piece is supported, so choose it with a sample of the edge in hand.
