About Sintered stone
Mineral surface, pressed and fired; no resin binder.
A solid greige, between stone grey and pale sand, with no visible pattern. Warm but restrained, it sits well with off-shutter concrete, timber and warm-white plaster.
Sintered stone is made from natural minerals, pressed under great pressure and fired at high temperature until the particles fuse. There is no resin binder. Thin slabs need careful fabrication: full support, engineered edges and well-planned mitres.
Strengths
- Hard-wearing. Polished faces can show fine marks more readily than matt; ask for your series’ data sheet.
- Very low absorption on the Dekton and Luxen data sheets; no sealing.
Considerations
- Dekton and Luxen data sheets report thermal-shock resistance. Use trivets all the same.
- Possible for selected products and finishes; ask StoneCo which suit your project.
- Specialist tooling; thin slabs (Dekton 8 and 12 mm, Luxen 12 mm) need full support and engineered edges.
Planning your project
Review confirmed specifications and uses, and what to ask us about.
Layout, joints and supports
Joints, supports, edge build-up and cut-outs depend on the agreed layout. Send a rough sketch. Final drawings, measurements, openings and material approval are needed before cutting.
What affects your quote?
Quantity and layout, selected specification, edges and cut-outs, fabrication, delivery and installation scope all affect the quotation.
What happens after you enquire?
The office reviews your request and confirms specification and scope before quoting. Final measurements, drawings and material approval precede cutting.
Samples and visits
A photograph introduces the look; a sample helps you judge colour and finish in your own light. A sample does not show the complete slab pattern. Contact us to confirm current arrangements before you travel.

Questions about Sintered stone
How much does this material vary?
Low to medium; veined designs may repeat across slabs.
How should I judge a sample?
A photograph introduces the look; a sample helps you judge colour and finish in your own light. A sample shows colour, finish and texture, but not the full pattern of a slab. For natural stone, discuss how the selected pieces and their vein direction will be reviewed before fabrication.
How do I care for the surface?
A damp cloth and a mild cleaner are usually enough. No sealing is needed. Avoid abrasive pads and powders on polished faces. On textured Tocca surfaces, a soft brush lifts dirt from the relief. Use trivets and chopping boards, as with any worktop.
Can I use it outdoors?
Possible for selected products and finishes; ask StoneCo which suit your project.
How do I choose an edge?
An edge is the part of a top you touch most. The profile you can have depends on the material, the thickness and how the piece is supported, so choose it with a sample of the edge in hand.
