Compare stone materials for your project

A surface you love. A choice that fits its use.
Granite, marble, onyx, quartz and sintered stone offer different ways to bring a space together. Compare their character, then consider the exact product, finish, support and care your application needs.

This guide starts the conversation. We check suitability against the selected product's technical data and your project conditions.

Choose finish and edge separately

The surface finish changes how the material looks and feels. The edge profile changes how it meets the room, joinery and neighbouring surfaces. They are separate decisions, both linked to the product and its fabrication requirements.
Discuss the exact finish, thickness, joint layout and edge with the selected material. A sample can help communicate the appearance, while the technical sheet and agreed drawing resolve the construction detail.

Water

Will it sit in a wet area or around a basin?

Support

What carries it and how is it fixed?

Use, exposure and support
Exposure affects product and finish. Cleaning affects care and finish. Wet use affects joints, support, waterproofing and care.
Support affects thickness, span, panel format and installation. Your architect or engineer checks the fixing design.
Lighting and product information
Lit features need the selected slab or panel, diffusion, wiring and service access planned together. Product sheets state suitability, limits and supplier terms.

Material selection questions

Look beyond colour. Compare the product name, material family, thickness, finish and permitted uses, using current technical sheets and care instructions alongside samples.
It shows colour and finish. For a large island or wall, the proposed slab or panel layout also shows joints and pattern direction.
Yes. Add the intended use, indoor or outdoor location, rough sizes and a room photo so we can discuss a shortlist.
No. Natural onyx and Engineered Onyx are different families. Lighting, support, use and care depend on the exact slab or panel.
